Resource Center

The Resource Center, an 1852 historic building restored by the Society from 2012-2014, is the center of the Port Washington Historical Society. As the Society Resource Center, it houses the organization’s collections, offices and research area. It’s original tin ceiling, wood floors and plaster walls were revealed through the restoration of the building. The building was awarded a Historic Preservation Excellence Award in 2014 by the Wisconsin Association of Historic Preservation Commissions. Historic displays that feature the Society’s collections change from year to year. Volunteers assist with research requests.

The current exhibits at the Resource Center are "The Artwork and Studio of Port Washington Artist Shirley Schanen Gruen" and "The Maritime Art and Nautical Artifacts from the Society's Bienlein - Burke Maritime Collection."
